Scrapping

How long have I been scrapping:
7 + years

How I started scrapping:
About 10 years ago I started working at ACMoore part time. I had zero experience with scrapbooking but that's where my boss wanted me to work so I worked that department exclusively for the 4 years I was there. I knew everything about every scrapbook product we carried and could have cared less. At the time I thought it was all a waste of time and money (pause for loud gasp from my readers). Fast forward to New Year's 2005, I decided to quit smoking and I desperately needed something to keep me busy so I bought some scrapbooking stuff and tried it. It was like crack...I was totally hooked. Within months I had a steadily growing stash of supplies (got to love that employee discount) and within a year I had staked out my first little nook just for me and my new found hobby. I've been scrapping steadily ever since.

My scrap style:
My friends say I have a recognizable style but I couldn't describe if I tried. Most of my layouts are one or two photo and I am not really into linear designs so most of my photos are at an angle. I love color so I use a wide variety when I scrap. I have a serious addiction to journal spots, so you'll pretty much always find those on my layouts. Oh and I love love love white space.

Where I scrap:
I am super lucky to have my own scrap room. My amazing hubby helped me convert my kids old playroom into a new scraproom back in February of 2009 and it is my favorite place in the house so I do most of my scrapping there. Whenever possible though I hit the road to scrap with my friends at whatever crops we can find.

Favorite Scrap Stores:
I am a shop-a-holic when it comes to scrapping. I rarely buy online and prefer to shop brick and mortar stores...my favorite store...Right At Home in North Attleboro, MA.

Favorite Scrappy Products:
So many great products so little money...I am a total paper-holic...truly an addiction for me. I love My Minds Eye die cuts, Jenni Bowlin Journal Spots, American Crafts Thickers, Heidi Swapp Bling, Glimmer Mist, Little Yellow Bicycle, Reminisce. My latest favorite thing to play with is transparencies. Love em.

What I love about scrapping:
Um...Everything. I love that there are always new techniques to learn and try. I love that I am preserving memories for my family. I love my fabulous scrappy friends that I get to chat, scrap and shop with. I love all the pretty products. I love the shopping. Heck I even love the organizing.

My claims to fame:
I have been super lucky and have been published three times so far...thanks to my many friends and relatives and their amazing ability to vote like madmen I had 2 layouts chosen for Readers Choice in Creating Keepsakes.
